In Scripture we are told many things. From God’s love to the promise of eternal life, everything we believe and know has been revealed to us by God in his Word. When it comes to the question of the origin of the cosmos, the question is remarkably simple: Did God intend that we should take the creation story at face value or did he not. And if he did so intend, then can he be trusted to have communicated to us what actually happened in history?
