Scandalous Grace

Abraham was instructed to teach his family the ways of the Lord, and in this first glimpse into the family of Isaac and Rebekah we see division and hostility. No one behaves as they ought, and in this we see the scandalous nature of grace: it isn’t given as a reward to those who deserve it, but on the basis of God’s soveriegn will and purpose.
