2 Thessalonians: Living in Light of Christ's Return
In this letter, written mere months after he penned 1 Thessalonians, Paul seeks to encourage this beloved congregation as persecutions and afflictions have increased over time. Rather than being beleaguered by these troubles, the stalwart Thessalonians have been steadfast in their faith, and they have actually grown closer to the Lord and each other in the face of opposition. In this letter of encouragement, Paul seeks to correct an erroneous report claiming to have originated with himself, namely, that the return of Christ has already happened. After giving his readers assurance that the return of Christ has NOT yet happened, and that it will be unmistakeable when it does, Paul then goes on to address how we should live while we wait.
