SCPC seeks to equip disciples to be leaders committed to faithful ministry in all facets of life.  This is accomplished through a Gospel Worldview that provides an internalized guide for life where the gospel is the lens through which we view the world.  The scriptures inform, the faith community counsels, and the Holy Spirit leads the disciple in the Will of God.  The Gospel as it comes to bear on all the aspects of our lives will cause us to conform more into the image of Jesus and impact our community for God’s glory.

Providence Classical School

Providence Classical School is a fully accredited Classical Christian school that occupies space in our educational building.  Their mission is to produce disciples who will influence our culture for Christ.  They model their educational philosophy on the trivium model, which is three parts:
1.  Grammar
2.  Logic
3.  Rhetoric

Spring Cypress Presbyterian Church is host to Providence Classical School and a number of our church family have their children enrolled at Providence.  PCS has its own charter and board and is its own entity.  Providence has up to 300 students K-12.  Spring Cypress Presbyterian Church views our relationship with Providence Classical School as a partnership in the Gospel to providing outstanding Christian education to the families of Northwest Houston.

Christian education is a God ordained covenantal process; therefore, Christian Education and Publications, as an agency of the Presbyterian Church in America, focusing upon the Sovereignty of God within the covenant context, seeks to glorify God by equipping, training, and encouraging believers, particularly leaders and teachers to make a difference by proactively living redemptive Christian lives and making disciples in the Kingdom of God by:

    * knowing the Lord,
    * knowing and obeying the Word,
    * knowing the world,
    * knowing themselves


with a commitment to understand and interpret the truth in different cultural settings from a biblically reformed worldview that enables them to serve the Lord with a global vision by: penetrating this generation with the prophetic presentation of the Gospel, building strong relationships through which Christ builds His church, extending the Kingdom of God in every area of life and equipping people for actual ministry.
