ATRIA ASSISTED LIVING MINISTRY – WORSHIP SERVICE
The Atria Assisted Living Facility at 6611 Cypresswood Dr. provides a unique opportunity for Spring Cypress Presbyterian to reach out into its community of Senior Citizens by leading the Sunday morning worship service each week from 10:00 am to 10:45 am. The Atria Worship Team brings song, prayer, scripture, sermon, and fellowship to the Atria residents, staff and volunteers.  Please plan to visit and observe--you'll see where your talents can best be used in this program of Christian service!

AV/SOUND BOOTH
Our AV/Sound Booth Committee run the equipment for all church activities.  We need more people that are trained to use the equipment.

BUILDING AND GROUNDS COORDINATOR
Our facility always has something that needs to be fixed or made better.  If you are a handyman, please contact us so we can use your talents.

CHRISTIAN EDUCATION TEAM
The focus of our Christian Education ministry is to have classes during the Sunday School hour relating to the areas of Bible Study/theology and life relationships/personal and spiritual growth.  This is provided by a number of teachers using a variety of teaching formats.  If you have an idea for a class or would be interested in teaching a class, let us know.

ADULT CHOIR
The choir leads hymns and performs special pieces at our Traditional service.  Contact us if you would like to be involved--no audition required!

COMMUNITY GROUPS
Community groups are regular gatherings aimed at providing an intimate pursuit of God, connecting with a smaller gathering of believers, and a mission to touch the lives of those around you with the message of Christ.  We believe life change occurs most effectively in the context of community.  In an age of increasing depersonalization in our culture, Community Groups are ideal environments for cultivating long-term relationships in light of what God is doing in and through us.  Most groups meet once a month for a meal.  These are caring communities of 12 to 18 adults who, as a response to the love of Christ, are committed to loving and encouraging each other.   The Community Group experience is centered on three elements:  (1) scripture study and discussion,  (2) friendship and relational connecting, and (3) prayer and encouragement.

There is a current need for developing additional Community Group leaders and securing volunteer homes for hosting community groups. If your gifts are either discipleship or hospitality, your time and talents can be used in our Community Group Ministry.  We strive to help all members in connecting with the Body of Christ and touching one another in this ministry area. Our current Groups are reaching maximum size and will soon need to split and re form into smaller groups.

CONGREGATIONAL CARE AND SHEPHERDING
Every member of the church is assigned a shepherd that is a member of our church leadership.  Please contact us if you have any questions about this ministry.

DEACONS
The Diaconate of SCPC is responsible for visiting members who are ill, hospitalized or families who have experienced a death in the family, providing meals for families in need (in conjunction with the Women’s Ministry), assisting families who need help with transportation or other physical needs, offering financial guidance, helping people find employment, overseeing the Atria ministry, sponsoring blood drives, ushering at Worship services, and counting the weekly offering.

KIDZCHOIR
Kidz Choir operates for children ages K through 5th grade. The choir rehearses from 6:30 to 7:00 pm on  Wednesdays in the Sanctuary. The Children's choir sings several times throughout the year at worship services and at The Atria.  They provide special music on Sunday mornings such as Palm Sunday and Mother’s Day, participate in the Christmas program, and perform a musical in the spring.  KidzChoir runs during the school year only.

KIDZ SUNDAY SCHOOL
We provide Sunday School classes for children ages 3 through 6th grades.  Our program is designed to teach Biblical truth at an age-appropriate level to our children.  At this time, we are in need of people who would be willing to substitute when needed.

KIDZ QUEST
KidzQuest is a ministry to children ages 4 to 6th grade who meet on Wednesday evenings at 7pm during the school year.  The mission of Kid’s Quest is to help children put Christ in every place of life and to form healthy relationships and develop positive feelings about themselves.  As we prepare our children to move into youth, we present Christian values through Bible memorization, catechism instruction, games, music, crafts, and a variety of other activities.  Contact us if you would like to be involved.

MISSIONS TEAM
Our mission is to effectively reach the community and the world with the love of Christ by supporting local and foreign missionaries financially, emotionally and spiritually and to educate the congregation of SCPC to the needs of our missionaries and the opportunities to advance the kingdom through missions.

We meet monthly to pray for our missionaries and to plan such projects as the annual missions conference, missions moments, activities that will meet the needs of individual missionaries and to encourage mission involvement in the congregation.

We are looking for members to join us that will pray for a particular missionary, help carry out activities, plan for the conference and interview potential missionary candidates.

MUSIC
Nearly every Sunday we have special music performances during our offertory slot.  We also have performers at special events such as Easter and Christmas.  If you sing, play an instrument, dance etc, and would like to share you talent, please let us know!

NURSERY TEAM
The purpose of this ministry is to provide our children (birth-4 years) with a safe, happy and fun place to play and be cared for while their parents are worshiping.  We provide Bible Story time and songs every Sunday.  Every member at SCPC is encouraged to serve in the nursery.  A nursery volunteer is assigned to work in one of nurseries for 1 hour every 6 weeks or so.

LOCAL OUTREACH/NAM
Our church provides aid to Northwest Assistance Ministries a few times throughout the year.  We ask you to donate food items, clothing items, Christmas gifts, and sometimes money for people less fortunate than us.

MEN’S MINISTRY
Currently all men of the church are invited to breakfast at Strack Farms every Saturday morning.  We also have a Men’s Bible Study during the school year that meets on Wednesday night.  If you would like to plan more activities and programs for men, please contact us.

PHOTOGRAPHY
We often need pictures of events that occur at the church.  If you like to take pictures, we would love for you to help out in this way.

PRAISE TEAM
The Praise Team’s mission is to lead our congregation in worship during the Contemporary service.  It is our hope that the Holy Spirit will move in people’s hearts as we glorify our Lord in song.  If you can sing or play an instrument we would love to use your talent!

SUPPORT/RECOVERY GROUPS
These groups that meet weekly on our campus are secular in nature, based on the traditional twelve-step formats, and grow only by the needs of the attendees. They are based on attraction rather than promotion, and deal with addictive behaviors (codependency, and sexual addiction, including relationship crises). Recovery is supported through ongoing weekly meetings, and sponsorship of newcomers. If you or someone you know would like further information please contact us.

WOMEN’S MINISTRIES
The purpose of Women's Ministries in the church is to encourage, equip, and educate women through fellowship, prayer and Bible study.   We offer education and outreach specific to the needs and perspective of Christian women.  In the PCA, Women's Ministries is a subgroup of Christian Education.  At SCPC, as in most churches, the Women's Ministries expands upon the fellowship and bonds developed in bible study groups.  This can take the form of special interest groups (such as young mothers or single women), mission and outreach programs (such as Mercy Needs), and women-specific events (such as a conference or retreat).  Our goal is to enable each woman to serve and be served as we seek to care for one another and communicate God's love.  Contact us for more information on how to get involved.

YOUTH
As we disciple students with the Gospel, we challenge them to take the Gospel to the lost in a spirit of humility and love.  Both middle school and high school groups have weekly Sunday School classes, and weekly mid-week meetings.  Fun, large group activities are planned frequently.   Let us know if you would like to be involved.

We are looking for people to chair the following committees:

Hospitality – providing light food and snacks for special events

Decorations – decorating the church buildings for major holidays
