Dave’s Family

Dave and Jana met in Washington DC and were married in 1991. As a Native Texan, Jana loves being close to all her family, who are all Texans.  Dave, a Pittsburgher, and despite his love for Texas is proud that he is raising 3 kids who are all Steeler fans!   Dave and Jana have 3 children: Jack, Ford and Kate.  Their kids are a delight from God and attend Providence Classical School which is housed at Spring Cypress Presbyterian Church. 

Jana graduated from Baylor University and runs her own PR firm, MMPR, with her spectacular partner and friend, Pamela McClure. The firm provides Public Relations for Religious Publishers.

Dave’s Story of Faith:
Dave Muntsinger grew up in Pittsburgh, PA as a Presbyterian who never clearly heard the gospel, until at the age of 17, through the ministry of Young Life, he heard that Jesus loved him and died for his sins. The Lord brought him to faith through the breakdown of personal relationships and the healing of his knee from a devastating football injury. 

Dave’s Academics:
Dave has a B.S. degree in Business Management from The Pennsylvania State University and a Master of Theology from Dallas Theological Seminary. 

Dave’s Thoughts on Church:
Worship is to be theocentric, engaging, and participatory. The church is to be driven by the gospel as a loving and welcoming, missional community of faith. His objectives of pastoral ministry are found in Acts 20:28 as the church is called to 1) preach and believe the gospel; 2) understand, relate, and work to redeem the needs of our culture; 3) love one another until it makes us uncomfortable; and 4) provide real answers to the real issues of life.

Dave’s Work and Pastoral Experience:
Dave was the Pastor of Spiritual Development at West End Presbyterian church in Richmond VA (2002 to 2006). He was responsible for Community Groups, Adult Learning Communities, Men’s Ministries, and the founder of a Christian Study center (RICS).

Dave was the Pastor to Singles at Christ Community Church in Nashville, TN (1997 to 2001).  He had a marvelous time listening to  his friends play their music in the many music venues as part of his discipleship ministry.  He loved taking the singles on numerous mission trips and retreats and seeing them grow in spiritual maturity. 

Dave was a Sales Manager for The Barrington Group in Dallas while he went to seminary.  Dave loved being in sales and working at Barrington. “Sales was like going hunting everyday!”

Dave spent his first 5 years out of college as an IT Installation and Training Manager for the Marriott Corporation in Washington DC.  Dave loved his Marriott experience and the friendships he made.  Living in DC expanded his horizons and his maturity.  His travel advice: “always stay in a Marriott.”

Dave was a campus leader for Young Life in McLean Virginia for 4 years and the student president of Penn State’s Campus Crusade for Christ ministry.  These ministries have made an indelible impression on him regarding personal evangelism and relational ministry.
